Getting Past the Stereotypes |

I wrote this article for a 'real' vampire group I participated in back in May 2004. I was partly motivated to write it after constantly hearing co-workers saying bad things about a good person--just because of the way she dressed and the color of her hair(which changed on a regular basis). I guess I just thought it was stupid for people to say things about a person they didn't even take the chance to get to know.
Since it was for a vampire group, it starts off with whether vampires exist or not, but than moves into other areas. The group I was in classified themselves as "non-human", which, I've learned since isn't really true, so please forgive any non-human/human references I missed in editing it for this group.
It was also my first attempt at a non-fiction article--and I think I've greatly improved since then(I write a monthly horror column for writers now). I edited this as is, and didn't do a total rewrite.
Thank you for reading!

Articles: Therian and the Empathic Vampyre |

Therian to Empathic Vampyre
I will preface this article by saying there was a time that I doubted the existence of Therians. I imagine that some of them have some doubts about Vampyres as well. I simply did not have experience with any that proved to be legitimate and thought that I had closed my mind to that group entirely. This is the same attitude that I had, as a primarily sanguine vampyre, towards psivamps. My knowledge was limited by my lack of experience. But as with most things once you have experience, once you ‘know’ within your spirit, you cannot NOT know again.

Energy Vampire's |

ENERGY VAMPIRES
by Judith Orloff, MD
Some people bring unexpected lightness and comfort to your life. They crackle with energy, practically electrify you with their presence. And then there are those who leave you feeling stressed out. Or guilty. Or exhausted down to your very last molecule. I call them energy vampires, and obnoxious or meek, they come in all forms. The sob sister, for one, always considers herself the victim. The world is always against her, and she'll recount every horrible thing that has happened to her, wallowing in every perceived slight. The charmer is a constant talker or joke-teller who has to be the center of attention. The blamer, on the other hand, doles out endless servings of guilt. And then there's the drama queen, the co-worker who claims she almost died from a high fever or the neighbor who lives in extremes of emotion—life is unbelievably good or horrifically bad.

Energy vampires do not need fangs to live. |

A lot of people will probably say that they sometimes experience weird and unpleasant feelings after even a short conversation with others, whether it is a friend or a stranger. A person may feel fagged out and weary after such communication. As it turns out, these conditions can result from an "attack" of an energy vampire. Unlike fictitious vampires that climb out of their coffins at night and kill people drinking their blood, energy vampires need to absorb other people's energy.

Resonance Vampyrism |

*Note: This is my introduction to a possible new type of vampyrism I have been contemplating for a while. Usage of this article without permission of the author and House Aeterno is FORBIDDEN. This article may or may not be complete, I haven't decided yet.*
The sound of the ocean or a steady rain usually would calm our nerves, whereas a sharp crash or the sound of someone screaming would probably make us cringe. As I've mentioned in previously written essays, the environment around us constantly gives and takes energy from us. But can surrounding sound, and in particular music, be used as a medium of vampyric feeding?

My views on the vampire condition |
|
On Saturday, November 05, 2005 LoneNights wrote : |
Well to start off this article was inspired by Sedona's article on vampirism. To begin with I agree with the good theory on the cause of the condition is a traumatic experiance to a person. From what I have gathered every vampire that I have spoken to has had some great trauma in their lives. However I think that even the trauma of birth itself could be a big enough shock to the system to create this tearing of the spirit. Now what I think the reason that this trauma causes a tearing is that it is a spiritual self defence mechanism. It is the spirit's way of trying to escape the shock that the trauma causes. However because the spirit is anchored to the body untill death it only tears a small portion of the spirit away.

My Personal Belief on Vampyrism |

Note: This is a more detailed version of my previous essay "Vampyrism Associated With Energy Signatures."* Before using this essay for other purposes, please read the author's copyright at the bottom of the article. Please read the entire essay, including the footnotes, before messaging me with questions.
I've searched for a few years for an explanation on how the vampyric "condition" occurs. And until recently I was only able to get bits and pieces of a theory I thought would make sense, but the pieces never fit together until a couple of days ago when I was introduced to the Sep Tepy** theory.

The Nature of Vampirism |
|
On Thursday, November 03, 2005 Setekh wrote : |
Being a vampire in this day and age is not an easy thing. It is hardly the glamorous life it is made out to be in books or movies. It is often a great liability, creating unwanted hassles, hate and distrust from those around you. Among the many real vampires I have had contact with over the years, I have learned that a number of them would change their nature if they could. But vampirism is hardly a choice. It is something we carry within us, and whether latent or realized, it affects every aspect of our lives. We cannot be other than what we are.

Interview with the vampire |
|
On Thursday, October 27, 2005 RowenWindsong wrote : |
It was dusk and as we walked north on John Street, it was eerily quiet and the air was getting colder with each step. Every few minutes we'd pass other pedestrians on their way to somewhere else, unaware of our presence. I started wondering if leaving the crowded and noisy Starbucks on Queen West was a mistake, as I struggled to keep pace with Baron Marcus, a Toronto vampire and the lead singer of Vampire Beach Babes ....
He was leading me to his favourite spot in the city, an old tower. Instantly my mind filled with images of a Transylvanian castle, its towers surrounded by bats, and a wolf howling up at the moon from within a churchyard at the base of the castle. Sure enough, after a few minutes, we arrived at a gothic, ivy-covered tower, remnants of a burnt down church, with a small, gated graveyard concealed behind it.
