The intent of offering these awards is to acknowledge the hard work webmasters and webmistesses put forth with their sites. It is not a traffic avenue for me and I will not just hand them out to who ever applies. So since I am quite selective, it is in your best interest to read and make sure that you understand everything that I expect from you as a webmaster/mistress before you submit your site for an award. Otherwise, you are taking the chance of wasting your time and mine because you failed to read what I expect. If you do not hear from me within a month, that will be a good indication that I have chosen not to award your site. I do not send out emails as to why your site got the can, nor should I have to, it's all listed below. I know that perhaps I sound harsh, but I can't think of any other way to be clear and understood. Ok, enough of the meanie stuff. Below is a list of things that I look for that will determine whether or not I award your site. |
|
- Site must be obscure. Vampire, goth, dark, etc., in nature.
- Porn, Hack, Crack, Warez, and hate sites and sites that promote such sites by linkage, etc.. are not accepted.
- nOnE oF tHiS.
- Using comet cursor? don't apply.
- Give credit where credit is due, if your using someone else's things, a link back isn't much to ask. And I absolutely have no respect for webmasters who steal other peoples words, layouts, images and bandwidth.
- Is every other word on your site the "f" word? I use colorful metaphors myself, but I don't uses it as an adjective to describe every noun following it. Free Speech and self expression is great, but I would like to see some intellect coming from sites I award. So, it must be kept at a medium.
- limited broken links and images. If using midi files there must be a option to turn it off.
- I use to award MSN sites, but I no longer do. The reason being is that most of time visitors are forced into a membership that they do not want to join, and since I link winners that creates a problem. Although there are some very good sites on MSN, the navigation frame just kills some of the nice designs. I just can not get past it. My opinion?, move to Geocities. Yes, they have a small banner, but your not stuck with that hideous navigation frame.
- Your site must reflect decent html and color coordination skills. This means backgrounds, fonts, and colors must blend well and have as close to a professional appearance as one can get.
- Decent amount of content. No incomplete or under construction sites, both quality and quantity count here.
- Anti-America Propaganda on your site? No need to apply. I'm American, why would I give you an award if you wish to see me dead? nope..go away.
- I do offer more than one award, but you are limited to winning only one, so please choose which one you feel that best suits your site.
- Also, I do from time to time, change the award graphics, I will not exchange past winners awards for the new ones, and I will not accept submissions from sites that I previously awarded.
