Doppler effect and energy

Have you ever wondered how we can "feel" another person looking at us or why some people can "feel" electronics? Well after thinking about this for a while and then the doppler effect came to mind.

The doppler effect is the change in wavelength of emmited energy( be it sound, light or anything eles that travels in waves.) due to movement of the emmiter of the waves or the what ever is picking up the waves. With closer movemet the energy bunchs up and shortens the wavelength creating a higher pitch with sound and causeing light to appear more red. This is what I think may cause people to "feel" a person looking at them. Every drawing I have seen of the human aura and other energetic fields shows them progressing out from the body in a wave like pattern. Well my theory is that when a person looks at some one eles o when the come close to electronics that focus of a persons energy or the comeing contact with the energy of the electronics causes a slight bunching of the reciever of the foucus or the person comeing close to the electronics. This being similer if not the same as the Doppler effect. All people can feel the stronger buching caused by focused enery sent thier way when a person stares at them but fewer people are sensative enough to feel the small "nudge" caused by electronics. Also I think that how strongly you feel it would depend on the frequency of the energy comeing in contact with your own. If it is badly out of sync with your energy then you are more likely to feel it. Now when a sound passes what is recieving it the wavelengths expand. (This is what causes the change in a train whistle as it passes you) Well in my theory this could account for that shiver you get if a person passes really close and moves right by you quickly. The sudden contracting and expanding of your bodys natural waves of energy are what causes this feeling. I am sure that there are many other things that this could lead into and ideas or modifications of this theory are welcome.

Just a little scientific correction here LoneNights, whilst the change in wavelength of emitted light is due to the Doppler effect, it is called 'Red Shift'. This term describes the way that as light-emitting objects move away from a stationary (or slower moving) point of observation, the wavelength is subject to time-distortion (relative to the observation point). Time distortion is a tricky concept as it only works when observing light waves coming at the observer. If it were possible to selet a single wave, assuming that light is indeed transmitted by waves and not another form that is some kind of cross between photon-stimulation i.e. particulate transmission, and non-interactive wave transmission i.e. the current 'best description' of light transmission. By selecting a single wave of light, if it were possible to freeze its path by stopping time and look at the wave at 90 degrees to its path, it is hypothesised that the wavelength would be concistent along its entire length. It is the effect of time-distortion, which is in effect 'stretching' the wave the further away from its source it gets, that increases its wavelength thereby shifting the colour bias of the light towards the red end of the visible light spectrum. The slightly weak explanation for why time distortion does this is that because humans and animals are subject to the concept of time, and live in a world where the 4th dimension - time, is active, it is our perception of the light wave, filtered as it were, by our perception of the 4th dimension that causes the red-shift.

Phew! That was some taxing stuff - and I sincerely hope that this has been an interesting sideline to your idea. Now a little comment on your idea itself - good one! I am quite scientific by nature, and your idea of energy perception through wave emmision is very interesting indeed. Keep up the mightily cool idea flow. :)

Very interesting theory LoneNights, and glad you added your little part too Jacomus, both were very interesting to read.

I have had a futher thought about this most intriguing topic. I realised that I was caught up in thinking only about the more scientific aspect of the theroy, so I tried to change my focus slightly.

Focus

Looking at the theory of applying Doppler Effect to energy from a more human angle.

Thoughts

As I looked for another direction to think in, I hit upon sight. I began to wonder if the way that we see the world is affected by the energy everything gives off.

Moving away from the Doppler Effect for a time, anaylsing how I saw the world became my priority. I spent countles hours just looking at things happening around me, and come up with nothing. Then I found that I actually was noticing things about how I see, but when I wasn't looking at what was in front of me. I found that after staring at the forest that I can see from a hill in town, when I left to go home my head was buzzing with unfinished thoughts and analysis. I had no time to try and sort any of this out as I was riding, but I tried again when I got home.

Analysis

I have started with the idea that (very simply) our eyes as what make us see and are linked to our brain can be compared to a radar system. At first this doesn't seem totally logical, but I am assuming that the world that we see is distorted and overlayed by the energy it contains and what we see is a picture of both energy and hard substance.

From this premise I extended my thoughts to try and answer how different people notice different aspects of the same environment, and that as vampires more in touch with energy that non-vampires, we notice different aspects completely. I have always had it said about me that I see things others don't, small details, or oddities that are generally overlooked, seen but not recieved.

I propose that our own human 'radar' systems are all tuned differently, and those of vampires and people in touch with energy as a tangible thing, are tuned more sensitively - allowing us to see deeper into our environment than others. For example I do things like watch the shadow of a bird passing overhead instead of the bird, but know where the bird is.

Conclusion

I have arrived at the idea that the energy picture of our environment that we see is a constant broadcast from the environment, and it is the different sensitivities of our individual 'radars' that let us see different aspects. Returning to the way I will follow a bird's shadow not the bird, I believe that this could be my 'radar' noticing either an absense of energy, or a different energy pattern and telling my eyes to look at it, to try and get a visual answer to the anomoly. Naturally my brain, when my eyes see the shadow, will tell me that it is a shadow, an absence of light caused by the bird being between the surface and the sun. I have begun to think that perhaps this kind of conditioned 'knowlege' is in fact stopping me from seeing what is really there. It is a difficult question to grapple with, and is taking up vast amounts of of my energy at the moment, trying to reject my 'knowlege' of what I see, and see beyond it. I am having little sucess, but I will keep this thread updated whenever I have new thoughts and ideas about this.
