House of Dark Shadows

House of Dark Shadows is the theatrical-feature spin-off of the popular 1960s TV "Gothic" serial Dark Shadows. Jonathan Frid is on hand again as 150-year-old vampire Barnabas Collins, once again going about his business in the spectre-filled Collinswood mansion. Another carryover from the TV series, Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Joan Bennett), finds her blood supply depleted by the elusive Mr. Collins.

When Elizabeth dies, it isn't long before she's wandering the hallways as one of the "undead". Barnabas persists in his bloodsucking activities until he makes the error of falling in love with mistress-of-the-house Maggie Evans (Kathryn Leigh Scott). House of Dark Shadows isn't quite as satisfying as the TV series on which it was based, but it kept the fans happy in 1970 and pleases the crowd when shown today. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

I was very impressed with this movie. One does have to take an account for the time frame that it was released and see it for the classic that it is and realize how well of a job that they did with this film. It contained alot more graphical theatrics then the regular soap which was a shocker. All in all, great film if you are a Dark Shadows fan.
