Darkness Embraced Policy
This is a User to User, English language only Support Forum. Information or opinions contained in any posts belong solely to the user making the post and is in no way validated by Darkness Embraced or Darkness Embraced’s opinions, to include those of our moderators. Use of any information on this board is done so AT YOUR OWN RISK. While we may at time respond to posts, Darkness Embraced makes no warrants or claims regarding the validity of any information posted by users on this board nor do we review posts for accuracy of information.
This board is moderated by both Darkness Embraced as well as 3rd party member moderators and we request that you please be respectful when interacting with our moderating team. Darkness Embraced has a 3 strikes policy. Users will only receive 3 warnings during any rolling 3 month period. Any incidents beyond this will result in a permanent ban of the user's account.
THREE STRIKE PROCEDURE
Step 1. First Warning will be issued to member. Member will be directed to the TOS and asked to refrain from repeated behavior. If situation stems from a forum post, administration will inform the general public that the post is in violation and the thread will be locked.
Step 2. Second warning will be issued. Member will be placed in time-out for a period of 12 days. Member will be able to login and read all forum threads, but will lose the ability to interact with fellow members.
Step 3. Third warning will be issued. This is the final warning a member will receive. After this, there are no more warnings. Member will lose all site privileges and ability to access Darkness Embraced. This is permanent.
Please follow these guidelines carefully.
The Staff of Darkness Embraced Forums comprise of the Administrators and moderators. None of us are paid to do this job and therefore we are all maintaining this forum because we are dedicated to helping and providing a nice place to call home. While we appreciate and value your opinions on all topics, a Moderator's decision is final. If you continuously argue with members of staff, or respond rudely to warnings, then more warnings can and will be issued. If you wish to file a grievance about a warning you have received, contact one of the Administrators. But please do remember, even though you may be upset about the situation, be respectful. We can not work with you to resolve the situation if you do not remain calm and mature.
GRAMMAR/SPELLING
Please remember to watch your spelling, grammar and abbreviations. Lazy English and Instant Messaging/phone text lingo is not appreciated by anyone and doesn't help our many members who speak English as a second language. Please try and be as clear and precise as you can when posting. Remember to spell check your work using an online spell checker or MSWord and ALL CAPS is not to be used when posting comments. Failure to extend this common courtesy to members and alleviate administrators from constantly tasking after you will eventually result in a loss of your posts. If English is not your mother tongue, please make the administration aware of it. This prevents the administration from feeling frustrated with you and thinking that you just don't care and are doing it to be spiteful. Likewise, if you have a legitimate problem with spelling, please do let us know, we will help you with your posts or point you to a link for free spell check software.
FREE SPELL CHECK SOFTWARE
ieSpell - ieSpell is a free Internet Explorer browser extension that spell checks text input boxes on a webpage. It should come in particularly handy for users who do a lot of web-based text entry (e.g. web mails, forums, blogs, diaries). Even if your web application already includes spell checking functionality, you might still want to install this utility because it is definitely much faster than a server-side solution.
SpellBound - Spellchecker for Firefox and the Mozilla Suite. SpellBound is a port of the spellchecker code and user interface from the Mozilla Suite's Composer that enables spell checking in web forms such as html textarea / input elements (html input password elements are not checked by SpellBound) and rich text form elements. This allows you to spell check forms (e.g. message board posts, blog entries, wysiwyg, etc.) before submitting them when using your Mozilla Firefox or Mozilla Suite browser.
BLOODLETTING
Bloodletting is restricted to an adult (18 +) inner sanctum area in the forum and can not be discussed outside of that area. No persons under the required age will be remitted. No exceptions! This is to insure the safety of minors that may be present on the site. Minors are not to be given any information on procedures of blood letting practices. Any member found doing so will be banned immediately.
VAMPIRE DELUSIONS AND NON-ENDORSEMENTS
Darkness Embraced does not endorse nor support any of the following actions/claims:
-Physical immortality.
-The act of being “turned/sired/embraced” by another “vampire” through the transmission of blood.
-Physical growth of elongated fangs.
-Piercing of the flesh via the mouth/fangs.
-Violent acts of attack of any human/animal for the consumption of blood.
-Mythological associations with destruction of one’s self by sunlight, garlic, holy water, crucifixes, etcetera; ancestral claims to the mythological/legendary Dracula, Vlad Tepes, Elizabeth Bathory, or any fictional characters from films, books and/or games.
-Exceptional traits such as: transformation into mists/vapors/bats, absence of pulse, and/or increased physical strength beyond that of legitimate human capacity.
-Vampire vs. Lycan wars(this is White-Wolf RPG/Underworld based and has no substance in real vampire communities).
- Consumption of raw meat or dead animal blood. This is entirely dangerous and can be fatal.
- Self feeding. Some individuals have been known to do this to satiate cravings. If you are deficit in energy, there is no benefit to be gained by consuming your own blood.
-Any behavior that signifies harm or other criminal intent.
Such situations will first be approached in a very concerned and respectable fashion. Any of the aforementioned actions/claims will induce the Three-Strike Policy(see second paragraph at the top of this page) in effect immediately. In addition the administration reserves the right to publicly inform all spectators that the topic is in violation with the Terms of Service (TOS) and closed/locked for any further discussion. If the member remains persistent with any of the above by reintroduction of the topic, the administration reserves the right to suspend membership privileges.
VAMPIRE LURING
Attempts to harvest or make contact with any member through Darkness Embraced services via email or private message under the cloak of VAMPIRE DELUSIONS will be immediately banned. Any adult member found contacting minors with any ideas of VAMPIRE DELUSIONS, sexual exchange, or secret meet ups will not only be banned permanently, but at risk for being reported to their local law enforcement agency.
IF YOU'RE FEELING SUICIDAL
We are not equipped to properly help people who are contemplating suicide. We want to keep you safe by encouraging you to seek professional assistance.

If a member is overwrought and we cannot talk to them, they may be banned or put on time out to protect the administration and rest of the members.
If you give your personal information to an administrator or other member and later threaten suicide we reserve the right to contact appropriate authorities, however, no guarantee is made that someone will contact emergency personnel for you. As stated before, we are not equipped to handle crisis situations.

PERSONAL WEB BLOGS/JOURNALS
Your personal journal such as LiveJournal or MySpace is not exempt from our rules. If your blog contains language, subjects or images that are offensive and certainly not family-friendly then you must either filter such comments through a friends-only option or not link the site at all on Darkness Embraced, which is the better of the two options as it allows you to keep personal freedom over how you manage your blog.
We will not warn you for the content of your journal, we will warn you for linking a site with offensive material.

This forum is here solely for express purpose of supporting current and future users of Darkness Embraced Community and supporting platforms. Posts advocating or suggesting the use of a competitive subject or platform are deemed inappropriate for our boards and we reserve the right to edit/delete such posts/threads at our discretion.
WATCH OBSCENE LANGUAGE
This board is intended for, in the majority, general use. Please refrain from using obsessive vulgar language or negative comments about any other ethnic, religious, gender/sexual groups or individuals. Inappropriate words will be edited. Darkness Embraced provides this site for our users to gather and discuss Darkness Embraced beliefs, practices and life in general. NO TROLLING OR FLAME WARS
Trolling and/or attempting to bait others into a flame war will not be tolerated. This is to include any political commentary. Any posts we deem to fall in this category will be deleted.
Threads that are created with the sole purpose of providing negative commentary towards the actual person/persons are not permitted. If you wish to critique a public figure, make sure your comments are constructive and reasonable. These principles also apply to signatures, avatars, and the like. Additionally, threads that de-generate into nothing more than hate-filled ranting will also be closed and members will be warned in either case.
NOTE: To ensure that your thread is not closed, when starting a thread criticizing the comments or actions of a real life individual, you should approach the issue in a non-judgmental way, I.e. present your case factually and draw a non-hateful conclusion from that.
POST IN THE APPROPRIATE FORUM
Please read each forum description before posting to ensure you are posting in the correct forum. Off topic posts will be moved to the correct forum.
NO DUPLICATE OR REPEAT POSTS
If no-one answers your question or responds to your post, please "bump" it rather than posting it again. Posting the same question over and over or in every forum will just annoy people and will not get answers.
USE APPROPRIATE TITLES
Titles like “Help Me” or “I'm Stuck” serve little value in a forum. Try to be short but descriptive when submitting your post. Likewise, try to be clear and articulate when posting your questions, answers, or comments. Unclear messages/posts only add confusion and may delay responses to your post. Darkness Embraced Administrators reserve the right to change the title at our discretion.
NO ILLEGAL SUGGESTIONS
Respect the copyrights of other people, websites, software and printed media. Please site the author and the url for reference and seek permission for any reduplications. Do not take credit for work that you have not done. Please no pointers, how-to’s, advocating any illegal activity. This is also to include drug use or discussions on illegal drugs. Posts regarding such things as warez, crackz, plagiarized works etc. will be deleted and the user warned.
NO ADVERTISING/SPAM or SOLICITATION
Do not use this site as a redirector or gateway to another site for the purpose of collecting click income or advertising. Although there are times when a link to another site is necessary for helping or answering a question, this site reserves the right to determine what is and is not SPAM. Any SPAM will be immediately deleted and the user warned. Likewise, this is not your personal "for sale" board to advertise items. There are other sites out there that will allow you to sell your items. This is to include the private message system.
IMAGES
Darkness Embraced allows uploading of photos to the member gallery. You are not permitted to use other people’s photos by claiming their physical identity as your own. This is a form of identity theft. Members are limited to five pictures maximum. If you are a new member that has not posted or participated in other areas of the site, only one photo will be permitted. Once there is evidence of moderate participation on a consistent base, we will allow you to submit more. Photographs must show the face of the member and not just an arm, foot, leg, etc. Artwork is not permitted. Please remember, no pornographic or obscene material of any kind.
FORUM AVATARS
Avatars can not exceed 140 in width. Height is not too restrictive unless it is unusually long. Avatars can not contain nudity or obscene gestures, religious, political, or ethnic intolerance. Avatars should not exceed 150 kb. Animated Avatars, if found to retard the download of the pages on Darkness Embraced, will be removed. Do not hot link to another website’s images unless it is your domain. This costs the web owner money in bandwidth and is illegal. Any member found or reported from another web owner of this offense will have the hot link removed and be given a warning. Use services that permit hot linking such as photobucket.
SIGNATURES/USER NAMES/PROFILES
User names can not exceed 19 characters, contain any character maps, or be in sTiCkY cAp format. User names can not contain any racist terms, extreme sexual deviancy
Signatures: While we have allowed the use of signatures as a form of expression, graphics in signatures should be no larger than 100 pixels high by 400 pixels wide. An additional 2 lines of text are allowed but must be in a small size. No large text.
If using text only, keep the text small. File size should be no greater than 150KB this includes any text or images used in your signature. Signatures outside this limit will be edited and/or removed. Signatures are bound by the same rules as posts/threads. URL signature tags are limited to the site owner only. All other third party tags are not permitted and will be removed.
Profile Age - You must have a valid age listed on your profile at all times. All members have a right to know the age of the person they are talking to. This protects everyone and gives them more of a sense of what is ok and not ok to discuss with a person. Any member found lying about their age will be issued a warning and asked to correct it. Failure to comply will result in immediate suspension.
ENTRY KEY - We ask for an entry key upon signing up for membership. You must supply the right entry key or your account will be rejected. The purpose of this entry key is an attempt to insure that you are aware of all policies on Darkness Embraced. By doing so, it saves the admins much time in having to reiterate these policies to you and any arguments that you may present at a later date. These policies are enforced and are not up for debate. If you have just done a search for the entry key and arrived here, please don't waste our time in signing up for an account until you have truly read through all of the policy. PRIVATE MESSAGES
Please do not use the PM system to ask technical support questions of the moderators or admins. Technical support questions PM'd to the moderators and admins will go unanswered unless it's one of a very personal nature. Instead, post your question in the appropriate forum for assistance from other members and board moderators.
Any post/thread that Darkness Embraced deems inappropriate for our boards will be dealt with accordingly.
