I'm not quite sure how to put this all, but I'll do my very best.
This may not be something that everyone wants to read so if you don't like hearing about others' illnesses or maladies, or have a weak stomach, don't ready any further.
I spent four and a half hours in the emergency room today. Last night and this morning, I passed blood. Not a small amount of blood, either. I felt weak, lightheaded and a bit dizzy. So, I convinced myself I needed to see a doctor about it.
After four and a half hours, all they could tell me for sure is that I have high liver functions. Or something like that. I have to call and make an appointment for a specialist. Yay, I get a camera put places I don't want.
It could be colon cancer, it could be some other random whatever-it-is causing the bleeding. I wish I knew already because this is driving me insane.
So, if you don't see me around as much...or...if you see me around more...you'll know why. |

Sebastian, I'm so sorry. I know you must be worried. Hopefully it will turn out to be something less serious. I will keep you in my thoughts, hon.~hugs~ |

Oh dear... that must've been awful. I'll definately be thinking of you and praying for you. I really do hope it's nothing serious. |

That is no good man, yes let's hope it is nothing too too serious, but if it happends to turn out to be colon cancer that is at least treatable. |

I hope you find out soon on what the status is Sebastian, worrying isn't good for you either so I hope it's nothing major and just one of those fluke things that happens from time to time.
I wish you the best of luck and I will be keeping you in my thoughts, energy's coming your way. |

Dude, sorry to hear about your malaise. Try to think positive. I am going to hope and pray you are worrying for nothing and that it is something small and treatable.
I have some bad medical stuff going on with my oldest child right now and I will make the same deal with you I make with all the other parents I run into at Children's...I will pray for your troubles, you pray for mine and in between I will carry you in my thoughts and send warm wishes and hugs. Not sure I will be around much either next few days/weeks but know I hold love for you all.

Sebastian, All my hopes and prayers are with you. I also pray the waiting for your answers doesn't take too long. It should go without saying that hopefully it turns out to be something minor and simple to remedy. Take care!

WOW man, I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully everything will turn out good. I feel for you with the camera treatment. Having just been through a bad bought with kidney stones over the past month I got cameraed twice. You can guess the entry point for the camera to look at stones. Thank all the powers that be I was put to sleep both times. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. |

Sebastian, I am keeping you in my thoughts. As Bobby noted, they will give you a healthy shot of Midazolam (lovingly known as the Versed cocktail), which will effectively sedate you before they scope you.
I am sending you my best!

Sebastian,
I'm glad you decided to go see a doctor!
I hope they can figure out what is wrong with you quickly and start treatment to get you better.
My best friend is going through something similar right now, she has had test after test done and they now think she has Vasculitis which is when your blood vessels swell and you basically have aneurysms throughout your body if it isn't caught in time and then the treatment is very aggressive. It has been 5 weeks now and she has been given nothing more than pain killers which aren't touching her pain. She is having nosebleeds, her mouth is filling up with blood from her gums, she's getting bruises on her body from blood vessels breaking.....she has constant pain in her joints, horrible headaches, she literally hasn't slept in three weeks....she just can't fall asleep.....etc.
All these blood tests and bone scans, cat scans and they still can't figure out what's wrong with her. And she's just getting worse by the day. She has also seen specialist to specialist.
I know what you're going through, feeling like you're going insane. She is the same. I hope you have someone that is there for you right now.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Isabeau I will pray for your child as well. |

Thank you all for the kind words, thoughts, prayers and energy.
I still don't know when the appointment is but I should know tomorrow. At first, they said they couldn't fit me in until January some time but after going over the records from the ER they don't want put it off that long. I don't like the sound of that, yet I'm glad they want to get this done and over with.
When I find out anything, I'll update here to let everyone know what's going on.
Isabeau and Jezebel...I'll pray, send energy and whatever else I can for you two, as well. As much as I can, anyway. |

Sebby dear, I am troubled to hear this. I do hope it turns to be a minor thing and not actual cancer. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers dear. I do hope you are ok. |

I'm sorry to hear about this Sebastian, lets hope like others have said it turns out to be nothing too serious. I know it must be frustrating just waiting for the appointment, but think positive and be strong, and hopefully it all turns out well. |

You guys are great. Never could I find another bunch of caring, sincere individuals as this.
I have an appointment tomorrow at the specialists office. I've no idea of the camera work will be done tomorrow or if this is just a preliminary kind of thing or what, but if I find out anything, I'll let you all know.
Again, thank you for the kind words, thoughts, prayers and energy. I'm trying to keep my hope up that it's not the worst. |

I went to the specialist's office yesterday and it turned out to be a preliminary type of examination. The actual procedure, colonoscopy, will be done on January 4th. Luckily, I will be essentially unconscious during the whole thing. heh
For the time being, the only thing I need to worry about is another episode like the one that prompted my visit to the emergency room. So long as nothing like that happens...
As I typed this, the situation has changed. I need to return to the doctor, as it has gotten to the point it was on Sunday which prompted me to go to the emergency room.
Again, I'll keep everyone posted as to what's happening.
Warmest blessings,
Sebastian |

Oh Sebastian, I am so sorry to hear of this news. I am at a loss to describe how worried I am for you.
Maybe it is a polyp that has erupted. If that is the case it can be easily dealt with. It does require surgery but it is not nearly as evasive as it could be.
I will keep you in my thoughts that this turns out to be something fairly minor and easily treatable. I am sure the wait is what is causing so much stress for you. If you just knew what was going on it would take the guess work out of this. I do hope that the doctor's find out soon what is happening to you and that you can recover quickly from this nightmare.
Be well my friend. Take care of yourself and hopefully the next news you post will be good news. |
