On Saturday, October 8, 2005, I will lead an investigation of two
covered bridges and a small cemetery in my area. I would like to
have no more than 8 people, so this is a first come, first served
event.
We will meet at the Barnes and Nobles in the Red Rose Commons
Shopping Plaza (off the Fruitville Pike in Lancaster) at 9pm, so we
can get to know each other, and go over basic planning. At 10pm, I
would like to make our way over to the first bridge. Most ghostly
activity takes place between the hours of 10pm and 3am.
Please go to my Ghost Hunting page ,and I advise all to read it over.
You won't be expected to purchase every piece of equipment listed,
but please come prepared with a camera (35mm and/or digital), and
extra batteries. I have basic rules that I expect participants to
respect. The rules are stated bluntly as I expect participants to
understand this is not a social night out, but a paranormal
investigation that is to be taken seriously.
#1: Have respect for each other, and for the ghosts.
#2: If you have diarrhea of the mouth, in other words you're a
compulsive talker, start learning self control. We'll be doing
EVPs, and your conversation won't be appreciated. One warning will
be issued, if it continues, you will have the choice of leaving the
area, or having your mouth duct taped if you wish to stay.
#3: NO SMOKING!!!!!!!!!!!! Your addiction is not my concern, but
smoke will effect the results of an investigation. Refrain from
smoking before you go on the hunt also, as the scent on you and your
clothes will also effect results.
#4: Before going on a hunt, cleanse yourself with unscented soap,
shampoo and conditioner (if you use it.) I recommend Ivory
products. DO NOT put on any colognes, perfumes, scented hair gels
or hair spray, after shave, scented deodorants, etc, as they will
effects the results of an investigation.
After we are done, we can either go to the local Sheetz on Oregon
Pike for coffee, snacks and conversation, or to Jennie's Diner on
Route 30 East, as this is the only place I know open 24 hours. If
any other places come to mind, I will suggest them.
If interested, please register at the Yahoo group and respond to this topic on the message
board. Questions, concerns, comments can also be addressed here,
but if you think it necessary, email me at:

Wishing you luck on your research. and now asking a stupid question, as I know little to nothing about it, why does scented products effect the outcome? and will you be publishing a paper after the weekend? (would love to read it if you are) |

Thanks for all the well wishing, hopefully, we'll get some decent evidence. My hubby has new programs which enhance audio and visual, so we can get better results going over EVPs, photos and video footage.

Sorry harleylilithnoir, missed your question when I was on last night.
Spirits may contact us in various ways, not just visual or sound. For example, a woman who wears a certain scent of perfume.....how can we figure out if it is her spirit, if someone else is also wearing a discernible scent?
At Gettysburg, I was walking in the woods with another person and suddenly I got to one spot where the scent of pipe tobacco was very strong. The path we were on was straight, so were able to see far ahead and behind us, neither of us smoked, and we could not see anyone else about. It was fall, leaves down, so, no one walking amongst the trees either. But, if someone with us had been smoking, how would we have been able to catch this pipe tobacco scent?
Hope that examples things.
I most probably will be writing something up once the evidence is all looked at, and most especially if we have an encounter. |
