At the moment the forums are a veritable pigsty with code splattered everywhere. I have been editing posts for some time to rectify this, but it is becoming a full-time job so now I'm just going to delete the code and that means you'll have to post the image link youself. And PLEASE, check your posts afterwards! And if the link didn't work when you check, IT'S NEVER GOING TO WORK! Go back and delete it please! Come on, clean up after yourselves. So if you want to have the image from your quiz result in your post this is how you do it.
Firstly, you DON'T have to copy and paste all that code from the quiz. You can just copy-paste the text that you read in your results. It will appear in the post exactly the same as it would if you copied all that code, if the text comes fromthe code it will often be broken like below so just copy it from the text below the image on your results. Then you need to copy the image link, for example, below is the complete code copied fromthe box, the image link you need I will make green, everything you don't need in red;
<img src="http://images.quizilla.com/C/chaoscomesatnite/1079649488_allenangel.jpg" border="0" alt="fallen2"> Your wings are BROKEN and tattered. You are
an angelic spirit who has fallen from grace
for one reason or another - possibly, you
made one tragic mistake that cost you
everything. Or maybe you were blamed for a
crime you didn't commit. In any case, you are
faithless and joyless. You find no happiness,
love, or acceptance in your love or in
yourself. Most days are a burden and you
wonder when the hurting will end. Sweet,
beautiful and sorrowful, you paint a tragic
and touching picture. You are the one that
few understand. Those that do know you are
likely to love you deeply and wish that they
could do something to ease your pain. You are
constantly living in memories of better times
and a better world. You are hard on yourself
and self-critical or self-loathing. Feeling
rejected and unloved, you are sensitive,
caring, deep, and despite your tainted
nature, your soul is breathtakingly
beautiful.

Do note that the <img src= AND the " are red, not green. Ok, you have copied your link, now when posting here just hit the img button above the posting box, second from the right. Hit it ONCE. Then paste the link, the green bit, then the hit the img button once again (the button should look like img* ). And that's it! You don't need all that border stuff, and the thread poster is the only one who really needs to post the quiz link, which I have highlighted in blue above.
Now your post should look like this before you submit it (disregard the spaces, I have put them in to break the link so you can see what is going on);
[img].http:quizzesillus.com/DaemoisaSexyBeast.1000.jpg.[/img]
You are a Sexy beast blah blah blah...
And the link to the quiz if you have started the thread.
Also, if you get the same results as someone who has already posted and they have put up the image, then you don't really need to again. It's a waste of bandwidth to have the same image ten times over. Keep in mind that some mebers may be on dial-up and it would slow them down a great deal if there is superfluous images.
I know this means you have to copy-paste twice, but it's so much more presentable when done correctly. Alternatively, you CAN copy-paste the whole code, but then you have to go through and delete all the stuff that's going to clog upyour post. Much easier to follow the coloured examples, in my opinion.
And if you want to post an image from photobucket or somewhere similar see this thread Pictures in body of text in the General Administration>>Questions, Comments and Suggestions forum.
If I have erred anywhere here, please say so, and pardon my grumpiness. It's because I'm grumpy. |

I've expected this one to come up for a while, and am glad it has. I think you've done well in describing how to post a clean quiz result to the threads.
Also, I'd like t mention that some quizes do give the option for BBCode, which is the code used in forums. As this will give a clean looking post, they also involve alot of the unnecessary items such as borders and pictures. The pictures, though often beautiful, can become a nuisance in a thread. Much of the time I access DE from a dial-up connection and a Quiz thread can take a long time to load under such circumstances.
My suggestion to people is to post what's necessary, and what's necessary is your results. If you liked your results enough to post them, then they should be incredible enough without all the bells and whistles attached. |

When I see one with the code fubared, I normally will go in and fix it and pm the member explaining how to do the pics. Thanks so much for going into great detail on it in this thread...this will be great information for all members that do post quiz results. |
